Leaves
Leaves ll oil on canvas ll 50 × 50 × 4 cm
This is a highly textured expressionist work inspired by the leaves of the Plane trees in Hyde Park, Perth. In spring, summer and even early autumn the leaves sit in vibrant contrast against the blue sky. Even during these months leaves fall from the trees during heavy winds. This work captures that moment, watching the leaves fall from the trees and the light uniquely hitting each leaf, sometimes in ways contrary to what the eye expects.
This original work uses exclusively oil paints on primed and stretched canvas. It is varnished and signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. The sides of the canvas are painted the same mix of cobolt and cerulean blue hues enabling immediate hanging without framing.
This work would work in most environments, a bedroom, office, kitchen, study, entry way or walkway, to either emphasise indoor plants or bring some life indoors.
